Studio One Arizona Dance Company believes in superior quality education and artistic training. Founded in 2005, under the direction of Rachael Reyes, Studio One strives to create well rounded dancers in all disciplines while promoting the importance of inclusion, friendship, consistent work ethic, and hard work.
Family owned and operated, Studio One has been serving the Tucson community for 20 years.
OUR MISSION
The mission of Studio One Arizona Dance Company is to provide the highest caliber of education to dancers so that they may achieve their greatest potential as artists and community leaders.

To achieve this mission, Studio One has 5 goals:

1. Provide an educational environment that allows for intellectual, artistic, and personal growth and prepares students for a successful career and life as future artists and leaders.
​
2. Continue to elevate standards every year, remaining responsive to the changes in the performance art community.
​
3. Faculty will consist of instructors in various disciplines who all share the same passion, love, and understanding for movement and education.
​
4. Provide an educational atmosphere that fosters friendship.
​
5. Shape the performance arts community by being active members in Southern Arizona, and encouraging students to be advocates for the arts.

Graduate from the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management: Bachelors in Business Management and Pre-Law.
​
Awards: Best Choreographer from Showbiz, Starbound, Celebrity, and Cathy Roe Dance Competition, Choreographer for Maya Schonbrun winner of the Prix de Lausanne, Switzerland, Teacher of the Year Nominee 2021, 2022 Vail School District, 8 years teaching in public schools, and winner of Top Studio. ​​Over 100 Choreographed first place overalls.​ Founder and President of American Dance Leadership. With her 25 years of teaching experience, she has educated over ​ over 3,000 students. Rachael is also summer faculty for Master Ballet Academy.

Graduate from Saint Paul University in Manila, Philippines: Bachelors in Science in Food and Nutrition, and Associates in Early Childhood Education.

Billy Young
In Studio Faculty
Graduated from City of Islington College, London with a National Diploma in Dance. Two-time first place Gold Medalist at Hip Hop International Competition.

Awards: First Overall Choreographer in hip hop in the duets/trio, mini group, and teen/senior group divisions. Two years in public school education.
Twelfth year as Faculty at Studio One.

Ashley Schrader
Guest Faculty
Graduate from the University of Arizona, with a BF in Dance and a BS Business Management. She began her training at Studio One, where she competed for ten years. Ashley has trained in the Hubbard Street Pre-Professional Summer Program for three years in Chicago.
Ashley is a professional dancer and is a member of the Odyssey Dance Theatre in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Awards: Recipient of the Norman Wilock Award 2023. First overall choreographed works in Contemporary and Open. ​

Seven years as Faculty at Studio One.

Chad is a professional dancer, choreographer, and educator with a career spanning stage, screen and studio. Chad has performed and choreographed across the country with credits including the Video Music Awards (Katy Perry, Doechii), the Latin Billboard Awards (Eladio Carrion), and the national Broadway tour of Fiddler on the Roof.
His work extends to music videos, dance conventions, and celebrated benefit performances throughout New York City.

Chad Eastman

With 12 years of dance training, Amelie has been part of Celebrity National Dance Competition's Senior Crew as a convention demonstrator and assistant.
​
​Awards: First Overall Choreographed work in 2025, Icon Winner, $20,000 Scholarship to AMDA, ​First Overall Senior Soloist.
​
She wishes to inspire the next generation of dancers to grow in confidence, skill, and learn to love the art form.

Denys Jaramillo

Graduated from the National Personal Training Institute in San Diego, California, Deny's uses her over 13 years experience in the fitness industry to now training dancers. She loves working with clienteles ranging from post-injury to athletic based training. Her main focus is to understand each client's individual needs and goals and create a path to health and wellness.

Ellsie Schrader
Guest Faculty

Ariana Schmidt
With 14 years of dance training, and 11 years of competitive dancing, Ariana has earned ​ first-place awards, both as a soloist and with her team.
Beyond dance, Ariana is highly involved at school, where she challenges herself with honors and Advanced Placement courses. She is also a dedicated member of her school’s pom team.
Awards: Choreographed work first over all mini solo, Get Happy.

Junior Faculty

Mackenzie has danced for 15 years, spending the last 12 at a competitive level. Her hard work and passion have led to numerous first-place team awards, as well as individual recognition through scholarships from dance competitions and conventions.
Mackenzie is a high-achieving senior at Mica Mountain. She is a member of National Honors Society and Science National Honor Society. Mackenzie also choreographs dances and sidelines for her high school pom team.
