Studio One Arizona Dance Company has achieved a reputation throughout the dance industry for the superior quality of its education and artistic training. Under the direction of Rachael Reyes, Studio One Arizona Dance Company aims to create well rounded dancers in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, hip hop, improvisation, and gymnastics while promoting the importance of inclusion, friendship, discipline, and hard work.

Studio One was founded in 2005 in Vail, Arizona, and is a family owned business. Studio One currently enrolls 250 students throughout the year and will be celebrating 16 years of business this season.

OUR MISSION

The mission of Studio One Arizona Dance Company is to provide the highest caliber of education to dancers so that they may achieve their greatest potential as artist and community leaders.

To achieve this mission, Studio One has 5 goals:

1. Studio One Arizona Dance Company will provide an educational environment that allows for intellectual, artistic, and personal growth and prepares students for a successful career and life as future artists and leaders.

2. Studio One Arizona Dance Company will continue to elevate it's standards every year, remaining responsive to the changes in the performance art community.

3. Studio One Arizona Dance Company faculty will be made up of instructors in various disciplines who all share the same passion, love, and understanding for movement and education.

4. Studio One Arizona Dance Company will provide an educational atmosphere that fosters friendship.

5. Studio One Arizona Dance Company will take an active role in shaping the performance arts community by being active members in Southern Arizona, and encouraging students to be advocates for the arts.

Graduate from the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management: Bachelors in Business Management and Pre-Law.

Awards: Best Choreographer from Showbiz, Starbound, Celebrity, and Cathy Roe Dance Competition, Choreographer for Maya Schonbrun winner of the Prix de Lausanne, Switzerland, Teacher of the Year Nominee 2021, 2022 Vail School District, 5 years teaching in public schools, and winner of Top Studio.

Regina Reyes

Graduate from Saint Paul University in Manila, Philippines: Bachelors in Science in Food and Nutrition, and Associates in Early Childhood Education.

Mother of 4, Grandmother of 4

Billy Young

In Studio Faculty

Graduated from City of Islington College, London with a National Diploma in Dance. Two-time first place Gold Medalist at Hip Hop International Competition.

Awards: First Overall Choreographer in hip hop in the duets/trio, mini group, and teen/senior group divisions. Two years in public school education.

Tenth year as Faculty at Studio One.

Ashley Schrader

In Studio Faculty

Senior at the University of Arizona, majoring in Dance and Business Management. Trained at Studio One as a competition dancer, As a young competitor, Ashley has received first overall Teen Soloist at Nuvo Dance Competition, Phoenix, AZ.

Awards: Recipient of the Norman Wilock Award 2023. Ashley has trained with Hubbard Street Dance Company's summer intensive programs.

Five years as Faculty at Studio One.

Scarlett Nash

In Studio Faculty

Junior from the University of Arizona, majoring in Dance and a minor in Educational Psychology. Scarlett has attended Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Visceral Dance Chicago, DanceWorks Chicago, Nova Linea Contemporary Dance, New York City Dance Alliance, and Symbiosis Arts' summer intensive programs.

Third Year as Faculty at Studio One.

Riley Parish

Senior at the University of Arizona, majoring in Dance. Riley performed for TEDxUARIZONA on January 2023, for the "Messy Middle" Talk, held at the University of Arizona. Under the guidance of Sam Watson, the choreography performed a creative work that mixes fantasy with reality.

Her work has been showcased at the University of Arizona's Student Spotlight showcase, "Doors Closed".

Second year as Faculty at Studio One

Based in New York, Chad just finished his tour as a dancer on Broadway's Fiddler on the Roof. He is Faculty at The Royal Dance Competition, and has performed at Carnival under the direction of Gina Menichino.

Five year as Guest Faculty at Studio One

Competed as a competitive gymnast for 10 years before attending Texas Tech University on a cheerleading scholarship. Graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors in Science in Merchandising and Marketing. Currently certified in teaching for the Vail Unified School District.

Lindsee Turner

Isabela Baltierrez

Junior Faculty at Studio One, and received a full year of apprenticeship with Rachael Reyes. She hopes to attend the a four year university as a Biology Major and Dance Minor following graduation.

Awards: Top 5 Senior Soloist Celebrity Nationals 2023, Captain of Pom Line with Cienega High School.

Junior Faculty at Studio One, and received a full year of apprenticeship with Rachael Reyes. She hopes to attend the University of Arizona as a Dance Major following graduation.

Awards: First Overall Senior Soloist, Celebrity 2023, AMDA Scholarship Winner, Pom Line with Mica Mountain High School.
