Show Information

 

Dress Rehearsal

Saturday, December 23rd Starting from 11:00am – 4:00pm (Dancers must arrive dressed and ready to dance 15 minutes before their scheduled time. Dancers may leave when they finish. There are no regular classes on the 22, 23 and 24.  Come to your first dress rehearsal time. ** please read the entire schedule.

Dancers ages 8+ may stay for the entire dress rehearsal, if they can dress themselves. We will have parent volunteers helping. Dress rehearsal is a closed performance. One parents per dancer is kindly requested.

 

Performance

Show A: Saturday, December 23rd 5:00 – 7:00pm

Call time: 4:15pm

Doors Open at 4:30pm

 

Location of Dress Rehearsal and Recital

 Pima Community College Center for the Arts Proscenium Theatre, West Campus,

2202 W. Anklam Road

 

There are a lot of components involved in staging a dance production. We ask that you carefully go over this information and if you have any questions please ask the office staff before the dress rehearsal.

Rules

Dress rehearsal is mandatory. Dancers, who do not participate in the dress rehearsal, will not be permitted to dance. Make sure to read the schedule, and make sure you have the CORRECT CLASS for the dress rehearsal. We ask parents to drop off and pick up dancers for dress rehearsal. If you have a young child, or your child is only in one dance you may sit and wait in the theater. DO NOT bring additional family. This is a rehearsal, not the performance. Please make your child SIT IN A SEAT when they arrive at the theater.

 

Backstage

Parents are not allowed to remain backstage with the dancer unless the parent is a volunteer. Dancers cannot go back and forth from the audience to the backstage area. We do not want to risk losing a dancer, or a dancer missing their dance. Dancers cannot watch from the wings. All dancers must stay in their designated area. Dancers who do not stay in their area, may risk missing their performance.  If dancers only perform in the first part of the show, they may sit in the audience after the intermission, and must purchase a ticket for the show. Dancers who miss their performance will not be refunded tickets or recital fees. Studio One is not responsible for lost or stolen items back stage. Items left back stage after the last show will be disposed of.

 

Intermission

There will be a 10 minute intermission. Feel free to stay, but if you must leave, we kindly ask that you leave during the intermission. It is very distracting to the dancers and the audience, when people come and go throughout the performance.

 

Food

No food, except water is allowed back stage. Please help the Pima Community College, and keep the theater clean.

 

 

Photography

There is absolutely no flash photography. If you would like to purchase a DVD of the show, a sign up sheet is available at the front desk at Studio One, or you can speak with Adam Schmidt who will be in charge of the DVD and filming.

 

How to prepare your costume for your dancer

  1. It is really important to make sure that your child is organized when they are back stage. A parent volunteer may ask you to organize your child’s dance stuff, if it is not labeled.

  2. Teach your child how to put their costumes on and off. Especially dancers between the ages of 7 – 10, are expected to dress themselves.

  3. Make sure their shoes are also organized as well as any hair accessories.

 

All costumes bags must be labeled with the dancer’s name, dancer’s class, and number order of the show.

 

Make sure to also initial the TAG of your dancers costumes and initial the and INSIDE SOLE of the shoes before dress rehearsal.
